Protect Your Treats: Cold Pack Add-On
Warm weather can be tough on candy and chocolate. Our reusable gel cold packs provide an extra layer of thermal protection during transit, helping reduce heat exposure and temperature-related changes along the way.
Cold packs are especially recommended for chocolate and other temperature-sensitive treats during warmer months.
Why Add a Cold Pack?
Adding thermal protection can help:
-
Reduce Heat Exposure: Provides an additional thermal buffer inside your parcel.
-
Protect Texture: Helps reduce melting, softening, sticking and other heat-related changes.
-
Protect Temperature-Sensitive Treats: Recommended for chocolate, chocolate-covered candy and softer products.
-
Support Longer Trips: Particularly helpful for longer transit times and warmer destinations.

Important Shipping Information
Cold packs are designed to help reduce temperature exposure during transit. They do not provide refrigerated or temperature-controlled shipping and cannot guarantee that products will remain cold or completely prevent melting, softening, sticking, blooming or other temperature-related changes.
Their effectiveness depends on outside temperatures, transit time, parcel size, courier conditions and how quickly the parcel is brought indoors after delivery.
For the best protection, we strongly recommend pairing cold packs with expedited shipping during warm weather.
When Cold Packs Are Recommended
We especially recommend cold packs for:
-
Chocolate and chocolate-covered treats
-
Soft or temperature-sensitive candy
-
Longer-distance shipments
-
Orders travelling during periods of elevated temperatures
-
Larger orders containing several temperature-sensitive products
If thermal protection is recommended but optional and you choose not to add it, your order may have an increased risk of melting, softening, sticking or other temperature-related changes during transportation.
When Thermal Protection Is Required
During periods of elevated temperatures, The Sour Moose may require thermal protection before shipping certain temperature-sensitive products.
If additional protection is required for your order, we may temporarily hold the shipment and contact you before it leaves our store.
Any required cold-pack or thermal-packaging charge covers the additional protective packaging used for your shipment. It does not constitute insurance or a guarantee of temperature-controlled delivery.
If a cold pack was purchased or charged but we determine it is not required and do not use it, the unused cold-pack charge will be refunded.
